Terms of service

The short version. Rovyn is free beta software made by a small company. It will change and it will sometimes break. Your data is yours, and deleting your account is built to remove it from the service. The podcasts belong to their publishers, not to us.

Who we are

Rovyn is made and operated by Polimati LLC, a United States limited liability company. "We" means Polimati LLC; "Rovyn" means the iPhone app and the hosted service at rovyn.app. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.

The service

Rovyn is beta software, distributed for now through Apple's TestFlight and provided as it is on the day you use it. It costs nothing today. Features may change or disappear, the service may be down, and a plan your assistant built may fail to play. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at any time. We are not promising uptime, and there is no support arrangement beyond a person reading email.

Your account

Rovyn is signed in by design — there is no anonymous mode. You are responsible for the identity you sign in with and for what happens under it, so keep that Apple, Google, or email credential to yourself. Use the same identity at both doors; accounts cannot be merged afterwards. We may suspend or close an account that we reasonably believe is attacking the service, harming other people, or breaking these terms.

Acceptable use

Do not attack the service, and do not use the API for things it is not for: no scraping the catalog, no automated load that is not a person listening, no probing at other people's accounts, no reselling access. Do not use Rovyn to get around a podcast's paywall: it resolves what publishers make public and says plainly when it cannot, and pushing private or subscriber-only feeds through it to share them is not allowed. Episodes you download are for your own listening, not for sharing or re-publishing.

Driving

Drive mode makes the controls big enough to glance at, not safe enough to stop paying attention. You are responsible for operating your vehicle and for the law wherever you are driving. Set things up before you pull out.

The content is not ours

Podcasts stream — and download, when you save one for offline — straight from the publisher's own servers, the way a podcast app normally works. Rovyn does not host or proxy the audio, and claims no rights in the shows themselves: feeds, titles, artwork, and episodes belong to the people who made them, and their terms govern what you do with them. We keep catalog metadata so plans can point at real episodes. If you own a show and want its listing gone, write to support@polimati.com and we will look into it and take the listing down where that is the right call.

Your data

What we store, what Rovyn sends your assistant, and how deletion works is described on the privacy page, which goes through it in detail. In short: deleting your account is designed to remove your data from the service.

Assistants

Each assistant you connect holds a scoped grant you gave, and you can withdraw that one grant on its own without disturbing the others. Disconnecting ends that assistant's access to your account; it does not delete what it already made, which stays yours to keep or remove. What an assistant says or recommends is the assistant's, not ours: we hand a brief out and receipts back, and we do not review or endorse the editorial judgment in between. Your relationship with that assistant's maker is between you and them.

No warranty, and what we owe you

In plain English: Rovyn is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied — we disclaim the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, and we are not warranting that Rovyn will be error-free or uninterrupted. To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, punitive, or consequential losses, or for lost data, lost profits, or lost goodwill, and our total liability to you is capped at what you have paid us, which today is nothing. Some jurisdictions do not allow exclusions or caps like these; there, this section applies only as far as it legally can, and you keep whatever rights it cannot take away.

Ending it

You can stop using Rovyn whenever you like, and delete your account in the app. We can suspend or end your access if you break these terms, or end the service altogether — where practical, we will try to give notice so you can leave on your own terms.

Changes to these terms

If these terms change, the date at the top changes with them; we may also highlight material changes on this page. Using Rovyn after a change means you accept the version then posted.
